Healthy Futures Message from Ms. Resheske

Hi Teachers,
If you could please let your students know that Healthy Futures will only
run for 3 months this year that would be greatly appreciated. The program
ran out of funding for more prizes. There will still be a name drawing for
$300 if a student completes 3 months and there will be a school prize of
$500 for the school who has the most participants. The box to drop the logs
in will be in the front of school next to the shelving unit that stores all
of the newsletters and flyers. I will give students a new activity log when
they turn one in.

This Week's Reminders...

Hello!!

Tonight is OPEN HOUSE 6-7:30pm at our school. Please meet in the MPR at 6:00pm – at 6:15 the rotations will begin. There are 2 sessions 6:15 to 6:40 and one from 6:45 to 7:10. There is no special presentation in our room, but we will have a “treasure hunt/scavenger hunt” type of activity. :-) You are not required to come tonight, but if you are free and would like your child to give you a tour around our classroom, I’ll see you tonight!

I am also hoping to reschedule out potato digging tomorrow afternoon – my fingers are crossed for good weather and hope it works out! Just FYI – we may get a little dirty!

Thursday – we have 2 school presentations for the class – Little Yellow who will teach us about bus safety, and Mr. Hanley, who will talk to us about school rules, what it means to be responsible, respectful, and safe.

On Friday, PICTURE DAY!! I do not know the exact time our class will be getting our pictures done, but please remember to turn in your order forms if you’d like to order. Everyone will get their picture taken for the yearbook. :-) Dress your best today!! :-)

Have a great LONG weekend and enjoy – I hope to visit the fair and get a caramel apple, my favorite fair food!

Don’t forget out Scholastic Book Orders – they are due when the kids are back from Labor Day weekend if you’d like to order!

We went on a rock hunt!!

Our First Day of Kindergarten

Our first day of Kindergarten began with a special presentation by Mr. Hanley and the PTA with the reading of "The Kissing Hand" followed by Tea and Tissues for the parents!

We went back to our classroom, said good-bye to our parents, and began our morning work with pattern blocks. There were a couple of tears but they didn't last long when we found out the neat things they could make out of pattern blocks!

Our *FIRST* Kindergarten Recess

Miss Yan made us our own Kissing Hand cookie for afternoon snack to go along with our story this morning read by our school principal!
